Zlatibor je planina izuzetne lepote i jedan je od najznačajnijih turističkih centara Srbije. Planinski region se nalazi u zapadnom delu Srbije i pripada Dinarskim planinama. Prostire se između 43° 31' N i 43° 51' N, i između 19° 28' E i 19° 56' E. Nalazi se na prosečnoj nadmorskoj visini od oko 1000 metara, a Tornik, sa visinom od 1496 metara, je najviši vrh i glavni skijaški centar.

Zbog brojnog sadržaja, Zlatibor je planina na kojoj turistička sezona traje 365 dana godišnje. Turistima je na raspolaganju veliki broj restorana, kafića, prodavnica, a takođe i brojni sportski tereni, bazeni, pešačke, biciklističke i ski staze. Svojevrsna je vazdušna banja, planinsko odmaralište i klimatsko lečilište koju karakteriše umerena klima, čist vazduh, dugi sunčani periodi tokom leta i velike snežne padavine tokom zime. Ovde se sudaraju planinske i morske struje koje pomažu u oporavku i lečenju od plućnih i srčanih bolesti, a naročito štitaste žlezde i malokrvnosti. 

Zlatibor is a mountain of extraordinary beauty and one of Serbia's most important tourist centres. The mountain region is located in the western part of Serbia and it is part of the Dinaric Alps (between 43° 31' N and 43° 51' N, and between 19° 28' E and 19° 56' E). Zlatibor is situated at an altitude of just over 1,000 meters and its highest peak is Tornik with an altitude of 1496 meters.

Its climate and tourist content make Zlatibor's season last all year round. Tourist attractions include many sports facilities, swimming pools, hiking, cycling and ski trails as well as restaurants, cafes and local shops. Zlatibor is a climatic resort, characterized by a cool mountain climate, clean air, long periods of sunshine during the summer and a heavy snow cover in the winter. Because of its unique location where the crisp mountain air mixes with worm Adriatic sea breezes, notable successes has been achieved in Zlatibor with respect to the diagnosis, treatment, rehabilitation, and prevention of different kinds and stages of thyroid gland and hearth diseases.
